🇳🇬 “If Service Is the Motive, Four Years Is Enough” — Peter Obi Clears the Air on One-Term Plan

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has stirred public conversation after reaffirming his intention to serve only one term—just four years—if elected. In a heartfelt post shared via his official social media handles, Obi said he’s baffled that such a simple pledge is raising dust.

According to him, the uproar shows how deeply Nigerians have lost faith in the idea that real change can happen within a single term. “If service is the motive, turning the tide in four years is possible,” he wrote. He made it clear that personal ambition isn’t his drive, but rather a deep passion to see Nigeria function again.

Obi also dismissed any claims of desperation, boasting a clean political record—no thuggery, no electoral malpractice, and no shady wins. “Check my history,” he challenged critics, “you won’t find violence or rigging tied to my name.”

He further pointed out that within four years, his administration could take bold steps to cut wasteful government spending, strengthen the rule of law, and conduct free and fair elections—if truly backed by the people. For Obi, leadership is service, not entitlement. If four years of sincere governance is the sacrifice, then he’s ready to give it all.
