IMMEDIATE past Minister of State for Budget and national Planning, and frontline governorship aspirant in Edo state, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba has congratulated the good people of Edo State on their triumphal entry into the year 2024, praying that the year will offer them good things and improved living conditions.
In a New Year message that he released to the media, Agba urged the people to leverage the shared joy by taking seriously the ongoing leadership recruitment process that will culminate in a change of leadership on November 12, 2024.
He urged them to be actively involved in the process, right from the primary elections of the parties through electioneering to the crucial governorship election scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold on September 21, 2024.
According to Agba: “The year 2024 offers our people a significant opportunity to bring about a leadership change in our dear state. I urge our people to be actively involved in the leadership recruitment process.
“Also importantly, they should look at the pedigrees and capabilities of those who aspire to lead them and take a decision in the interest of Edo agenda and not in furtherance of Benin, Esan and Afenmai ethnic agendas.
“This is because Edo, ‘okpa ma khin’ (Edo is one) and we must not emphasise prehistoric fault lines that have always divided us. The year 2024, by the grace of God, presents us a Renaissance man in yours sincerely who is determined to change the governance narratives by ushering in massive infrastructure development in the three senatorial zones of the state, and we will Transform our Rural and Urbans Spaces Together (TRUST).”
