2027: ADC Coalition Will Vote Tinubu Out – Atiku’s Aide, Phrank Shaibu

Phrank Shaibu, Special Adviser on Public Communications to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has declared that President Bola Tinubu will be removed from office in 2027 through the ballot by a coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Reacting to reports surrounding Peter Obi’s move to the ADC, Shaibu clarified that the former Labour Party presidential candidate did not defect in the traditional sense. He explained that Obi had been part of the coalition-building process from the very beginning, and his recent announcement only made his involvement public.

According to Shaibu, Obi’s declaration is a signal that the coalition is now ready to challenge the current administration democratically in the next general election.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Post, Shaibu also played down speculation about a possible joint ticket between Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. He stressed that discussions about candidates are premature, noting that no flagbearer has emerged yet.

“People are forming a coalition to remove a sitting president. The issue of a joint ticket between Atiku and Obi is not an issue now,” he said, adding that whoever eventually emerges would carry the collective mandate of the coalition.

Shaibu emphasised that the coalition’s focus is not on personalities but on removing President Tinubu from office through democratic means.

On how supporters of Atiku and Obi would work together, he said internal arrangements had already been made, but insisted that such strategies were not meant for public disclosure.

“It’s our internal strategy. It’s not for public consumption,” he said.
