2027 Coalition Is Taking Shape – ADC’s John Nwosu Says As He Kicks Off Guber Campaign

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Mr. John Nwosu, has shared renewed hope for Nigeria’s political future, expressing confidence in the growing coalition aiming to reshape the nation come 2027.

Nwosu spoke during a thanksgiving service held at the St. Faith Anglican Cathedral in Awka on Sunday. The event, organized by his running mate, Dr. Ndubuisi Nwobu, marked the official commencement of their gubernatorial campaign in Anambra.

While fielding questions from journalists, Nwosu acknowledged the momentum behind the coalition of like-minded political actors determined to rescue Nigeria from what he described as the brink of collapse.

“I’m hopeful this coalition will succeed — and not just nationally, but here in Anambra too. We’re already seeing resignations from major parties. People are coming over to the ADC because they believe in what we’re building,” he said.

Though the coalition has been gaining attention, Nwosu was quick to clarify that his governorship ambition is not riding solely on its success.

“I joined the ADC before the coalition talks even began. My loyalty to the party runs deep — it’s been around for 18 years. But if coming together through a coalition is the solution Nigeria needs, then I’m fully on board,” he added.

Turning his attention to the state of Anambra under the current leadership of Governor Charles Soludo, Nwosu didn’t hold back in his criticism.

“Anambra isn’t working. Just look around — from aggressive tax drives to the growing insecurity. Our people are being chased up and down by so-called ‘aka odo’ tax collectors. We need to redeem this state.”

As a tech entrepreneur and CEO of the ICT company Jetlink, Nwosu pledged to leverage technology in a way that will revolutionize governance in the state.

“I’m bringing e-governance to Anambra. Tackling insecurity with tech isn’t rocket science — it’s what we do in the private sector every day. Within six months, insecurity will be a thing of the past.”

He highlighted his SHEEMS manifesto as the framework that will drive his administration’s transformation agenda — though details of the model were not elaborated on at the event.

With the 2025 governorship election approaching, Nwosu says his campaign will focus on real solutions, backed by tech-driven policies and grassroots support. And as for the coalition?

“It’s not just an alliance — it’s a movement. And it’s gaining strength by the day,” he concluded.
