Former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Sam Amadi, has declared his support for Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a post shared on X, Amadi said Obi remains the only major presidential hopeful he can “excitedly support” at the moment.
According to him, many of the other serious contenders have failed to inspire public trust, accusing them of lacking integrity and credibility.
Amadi made the comment while reacting to an online post linking Lagos socialite Aisha Achimugu to alleged financial misconduct and a prominent politician.
The post claimed Achimugu, whose reported $13 million forfeiture case recently drew public attention at the Federal High Court, was allegedly working for a top political figure.
His statement has since stirred reactions online, with supporters of Obi praising the endorsement, while critics argue that Amadi’s remarks were too sweeping and politically charged.
