500 NNPP Members Defect to APC in Kano

Kano — No fewer than 500 members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) from Fagge and Ungogo Local Government Areas of Kano State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors were officially received on Wednesday by the Managing Director of the Hadejia-Jam’are River Basin Development Authority, Rabiu Bichi, who described their move as a reflection of growing confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and the APC’s progressive agenda.

Bichi said the party’s development-oriented policies continue to attract Nigerians from across political divides, adding that the defection of several governors to the APC further confirms the party’s strength and direction.

He assured the new members of full inclusion and equal opportunities within the APC, noting that the party does not discriminate against new entrants.

“The APC-led administration is focused on food security, infrastructure, and sustainable economic growth,” Bichi said. “Our irrigation and agricultural reforms at Hadejia-Jam’are River Basin are in line with President Tinubu’s food security agenda.”

Speaking at the event, former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, represented by the Kano State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, commended the defectors for their decision to join the ruling party, describing it as a step toward consolidating progress in the state.

Also present, the Kano Central APC Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Ungogo, praised President Tinubu’s policies for stabilizing the economy and restoring public confidence in the APC.

The defectors said their decision was inspired by the APC’s commitment to improving governance and citizens’ welfare across the country.
