Letter to the Citizens of Edo State, By Rev. David Ugolor

Dear Citizens of Edo State,

As the dust settles on the recent gubernatorial election, it is crucial for us to turn our focus towards the future we envision for our great state. With the election behind us, we now have the responsibility to hold our newly elected Governor, Mr. Monday Okpebholo, accountable for the promises made during the campaign. Our collective engagement will be vital in ensuring that these commitments translate into tangible benefits for all Edo people.

To build trust and reinforce democracy in Edo State, we must facilitate a peaceful transition of power. This process is not merely a formality; it is an opportunity to create an enabling environment where we can learn from both the successes and weaknesses of the outgoing administration under Governor Godwin Obaseki. Reflecting on these lessons will help us pave the way for effective governance.

We should also look to the achievements of past governors, such as Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who served our state with dedication and vision. His tenure brought about significant developments, and we must tap into the resources and insights of leaders like him, as well as our revered Oba of Benin, to cultivate a prosperous Edo State.

Let us stand together as citizens, united in our commitment to progress and accountability. By engaging with our leaders and holding them to their promises, we can ensure that our state continues to thrive. Together, we can build a great Edo State that reflects the aspirations of all its citizens.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our cherished state.

Warm regards,

Rev.David Ugolor
