Bandits Kill Pastor, Two Others in Fresh Plateau Attack

Tragedy struck again in Plateau State as bandits attacked Suwa and Ding’ak villages in the Mushere Chiefdom of Bokkos Local Government Area, leaving three people dead, including a pastor.

The assault, which occurred between 1pm and 2pm on Friday, August 8, 2025, claimed the lives of Pastor Gideon Katings of COCIN Suwa, Sunday Ringkang, and Meshach Bukata.

Chairman of Community Peace Observers in Bokkos, Kefas Mallai, confirmed the incident, adding that one Michael Kamshak and several others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at Cottage Hospital, Bokkos.

“Between 1:00 hours and 2:00 today, Friday, 8th August 2025, Suwa and Ding’ak villages in Mushere Chiefdom of Bokkos LGA were attacked by terrorists, leading to the untimely death of three… while Michael Kamshak and others were injured and currently receiving treatment. Several residents in their hundreds have been displaced,” Mallai said.

Sources also revealed that before the Friday raid, the attackers had earlier killed Stephen Ngumap, a former choirmaster and current assistant secretary of RCC Ik’ngwakap, Mushere.

Hundreds of residents have reportedly fled the area in fear, deepening concerns over escalating insecurity in Bokkos LGA.
