Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has openly reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, revealing they have been friends for over two decades.
Speaking to reporters after a closed-door meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, August 12, Soludo—sporting a white cap bearing Tinubu’s insignia—said all political parties that embrace progressivism should work together. He praised the President’s “bold economic and structural reforms,” describing him as “hale, healthy, and in high spirits.”
The governor also disclosed that his administration has cracked down on “deadly native doctors” in Anambra, accusing them of luring youths into crime with false promises. “They are now on the run,” he said.
On why he supports Tinubu despite leading the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Soludo explained that ideological unity matters more than party labels. “You do not deny your friend of 22 years. I fully support him and believe Nigeria is on the right path,” he stated.
