The Lakowe community in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, has been thrown into mourning following the brutal k!lling of a well-known hairstylist and skit maker, Austin Bature. The young creative, admired for his talent and vibrant personality, was reportedly hacked to d3ath by suspected cultists in the early hours of Thursday.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers stormed his residence, dragged him out of his room, and executed him in cold blood. In a shocking act of brutality, the assailants also severed one of his hands before leaving his lifeless body in the community. Residents later discovered his remains after hearing strange noises earlier that morning.
Speaking anonymously for fear of reprisal, a resident said: “When we saw the corpse, we realized it was Austin. He was popular here and very good at his craft. It was devastating to see him that way.”
Another resident revealed that Austin might have sensed his end was near. Just a day before the incident, he reportedly posted a cryptic farewell message on his WhatsApp status, hinting at looming danger. “Those close to him said he already knew something was coming. His post felt like a goodbye,” the source disclosed.
The gruesome k!lling has left friends, fans, and fellow entertainers heartbroken, with many taking to social media to express shock and pay tribute to Austin’s memory.
