Edo APC Suspends Forestry Commission Chairman Over Alleged Party Indiscipline

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has suspended the Chairman of the State Forestry Commission, Mr. Valentine Asuen, over what the party described as acts of infraction and divisiveness.

In a statement signed by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Peter Uwadia, the party said Asuen’s actions were capable of inciting division and undermining unity within its ranks. It noted that the decision was taken in line with the provisions of the APC Constitution (2022, as amended).

According to the statement, Asuen’s conduct violated Article 21:2 (ii) & (v), and his actions fell under punishable offences as outlined in Article 21:5 of the constitution, which includes suspension for acts that threaten party discipline.

The APC emphasized that it remains committed to internal democracy, integrity, and fairness, stressing that all recent appointments made by Governor Monday Okpebholo had been evenly distributed across the state, including Oredo Local Government Area, without undue influence.

While charging members to remain loyal, the party warned that no act capable of destabilizing its unity or inciting disaffection among members would be tolerated.
