Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has once again cautioned truck operators against the unauthorised use of its logo, stressing that such actions continue to damage the company’s reputation. Despite repeated warnings, some independent truckers with no ties to Dangote still display the brand’s insignia, often for personal or undisclosed benefits.
The company raised concern that some of these trucks, falsely branded with its logo, have been linked to accidents and incidents wrongly attributed to Dangote. This, it said, has led to unnecessary embarrassment and misinformation about its operations.
In response, Dangote pledged to step up monitoring in collaboration with security agencies and law enforcement. It vowed to take decisive legal action against offenders. “We have repeatedly cautioned truckers to refrain from using our logo on unauthorised vehicles. Moving forward, we will increase vigilance and take decisive legal action against misuse of our brand identity,” the company stated.
Dangote also condemned the spread of false reports linking its fleet to road tragedies, warning that such misinformation only misleads the public and damages trust. The company urged both citizens and the media to verify facts before circulation, insisting that opportunists must not be allowed to exploit misfortunes for personal gain.
With one of the largest commercial fleets in Africa—over 12,000 trucks in Nigeria alone, including 3,000 owned by contractors—Dangote’s logistics operations are massive. On a typical day, more than 6,000 trucks are on the road, supporting its nationwide supply chain and sustaining over 36,000 direct and indirect jobs.
