Tambuwal Dares Tinubu: Incumbency Won’t Stop Nigerians From Voting You Out in 2027

Former Sokoto State governor and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, has dismissed the notion that President Bola Tinubu is untouchable ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Tambuwal insisted that the power of incumbency will not guarantee Tinubu’s return.

According to him, a broad national coalition is already working to unseat the president through constitutional and democratic means. “It is a national consensus,” he declared, pointing to opposition figures like Peter Obi and Rauf Aregbesola as proof that the movement cuts across regions and ethnic lines.

Tambuwal stressed that claims portraying Tinubu as unbeatable are misleading. “It is not cast in stone that he may not lose in 2027. Every effort is being made to make it look like he’s invisible—that Bola Tinubu cannot be defeated is rubbish,” he said.

He vowed to work with coalition leaders to secure change at Aso Rock, describing it as a patriotic duty. “It is not about Bola Tinubu; it is about the way he is running the country,” he added, making clear that the opposition’s fight is about governance, not personal vendettas.
