Fresh revelations have surfaced in the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, with investigators confirming that the prime suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was living with a transgender partner who is now fully cooperating with the FBI.
Authorities disclosed that text messages and private chats between Robinson and the partner provided crucial leads that helped track the suspect. Neighbours confirmed that Robinson shared a condo with amenities like a pool, hot tub, and fitness centre, just five miles from his family’s home.
Kirk, 31, co-founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of Donald Trump, was shot in the neck on stage at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. His final exchange came after a student asked him about transgender Americans and mass shootings. He was rushed to hospital but sadly did not survive.
Investigators revealed that Robinson’s communications included discussions about bullet casings marked with meme-style messages and a plan to retrieve a rifle from a hidden location. Utah Governor Spencer Cox described the killing as a “watershed moment” in American politics, saying Robinson appeared “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.”
Robinson, who grew up in a conservative Mormon family, was arrested near his home in southern Utah on September 11 and is being held without bail. Friends described him as quiet and geeky, often immersed in video games, Reddit, and Discord chats. His family told police he had become more political in recent years.
Charlie Kirk leaves behind his wife, Erika, and their two children. His assassination has sent shockwaves across the U.S., coming at a time when the country is already grappling with rising cases of political violence.
