Pastor Adeboye Accused Of Ethnicizing RCCG For Posting Tribe Men Pastors In Lucrative Parishes

Abuja, Nigeria – A group of members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Eastern Nigeria have taken to the streets to protest the frequent transfer of pastors in their ‘Shower of Blessings’ parish.

The protesters, who gathered outside their church premises, expressed dissatisfaction with the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye over the transfer of five pastors within a span of one year, insisting Pastor Obiora must remain in the parish or the church would be closed permanently.

The protesters argued that the constant changes were disrupting the spiritual growth and stability of their community. They claimed that the pastors had become integral to their lives, providing guidance and support beyond spiritual matters.

One of the protesters, who wished to remain anonymous, stated, “We are not against the church’s authority, but we believe that our pastors have been doing a great job, and their transfer will be a loss to our community.”

Another member, who has been part of the church for over a decade, added, “The pastor’s role is not just to preach but to shepherd the flock. Constant transfers undermine this process and create instability.”

The protesters called on the church’s leadership to reconsider the transfer decisions and prioritize the needs of the congregation. They emphasized their commitment to the church while expressing their concerns about the impact of these changes on their community’s spiritual well-being.

The RCCG’s leadership has yet to issue an official statement regarding the protest. However, insiders suggest that the church may review its policy on pastor transfers to address concerns raised by members.

The protest highlights the complex dynamics between church leadership and congregation, raising questions about the balance between administrative decisions and pastoral care.
