Breaking: Kidnappers Kill Kingsley Ogbeibu in Edo State Forest

A gruesome discovery was made in the Edo State forest, where the lifeless body of Kingsley Ogbeibu was found tied and in an advanced state of decomposition. Ogbeibu, a resident of Eguare Emu, had been kidnapped from his farm five days earlier, _Standard Daily Press_ gathered.

According to Prof. Anthony Ogbeibu, a lecturer at the University of Benin and relative of the deceased, the kidnapping and killing are part of a series of attacks by suspected herdsmen who have infiltrated the bushes in Emu Kingdom, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The incident has raised concerns about the growing insecurity in the region, with Prof. Ogbeibu expressing fears that no one feels safe to venture into their farms anymore. He is urging security agencies and governments at all levels to take immediate action to address the situation, as mandated by the Nigerian constitution.

“The Nigerian Constitution prohibits citizens to defend themselves by bearing arms while Fulani terrorists roam our forests and streets with impunity,” Prof. Ogbeibu lamented, highlighting the need for urgent review of the Constitution at the same time, urging attention to the security challenges facing communities in Edo State and Nigeria at large.

This tragic incident underscores the pressing need for effective measures to tackle insecurity and protect citizens’ lives and livelihoods.
