Human Rights Lawyer Moses Oddiri Allegedly Abducted by DSS

Lagos – Human rights activist and lawyer Moses Oddiri Esq. has reportedly been abducted from his home by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), according to family sources. The incident allegedly occurred on Monday, November 10, and is said to have been ordered by the EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede.

Sources told SaharaReporters that DSS operatives forced entry into Oddiri’s residence around 10pm, breaking padlocks and entering his room while his 17-year-old son and daughter were present. The family described a violent scene, with Oddiri’s son reportedly assaulted when he asked to see the operatives’ identification. Oddiri himself was handcuffed and taken away in a DSS vehicle.

Nearly ten days later, no official charges have been filed against the activist, who is reportedly being held in a DSS facility in Lagos State. Family sources indicated that the arrest may be linked to a petition Oddiri submitted to a fraud investigation unit in London regarding alleged diversion of community funds by the EFCC Chairman.

“Moses has been advocating for a community that has suffered injustice for years,” said a family source. “He involved the EFCC Chairman to help address the issue, but instead, the Chairman allegedly collaborated with those perpetrating the injustice. Because Moses petitioned against him, he was arrested.”

The DSS has not issued a statement regarding Oddiri’s detention. His family continues to demand urgent clarification and the immediate release of the activist.
