Kaka Igbokwe, former manager of music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia and son of the late singer Christy Essien-Igbokwe, has confirmed the authenticity of the old video showing the musician being arrested in London after a heated dispute with his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru.
2Baba had travelled to the United Kingdom with Natasha, who is also a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, for a concert tour. He later missed a scheduled performance on October 2, 2025, fueling speculation that he had been detained following an argument with his wife at the airport.
Speaking during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze on Monday evening, Igbokwe stated that “everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true.”
Recounting the incident, Igbokwe—who was part of the London tour team and flew with the couple—explained that Natasha became upset after feeling abandoned when they landed. According to him, fans approached 2Baba and ushered him into a shop, leaving Natasha behind. When the “African Queen” singer realised she was not with them, he rushed back to her, prompting an argument that escalated and resulted in his arrest and handcuffing by airport authorities.
The resurfaced video, posted on December 1, 2025, reignited public debate over claims 2Baba had previously denied. At the time of the original rumours, he released a video on Instagram stating that he missed the show due to a medical emergency, dismissing reports of a domestic dispute.
The controversy returned after blogger Tosin Silverdam shared the clip on Instagram and X, describing it as evidence of the singer’s arrest at London’s Gatwick Airport. “The video is finally out,” Silverdam wrote, claiming it captured the altercation.
Screenshots circulating online show officers speaking with 2Baba outside a store before escorting him away. Another clip posted by Silverdam also depicts a tense exchange between the singer and Natasha, with the blogger insinuating that Natasha was upset over the attention 2Baba received from fans.
