FG Deploys Tactical Teams After Deadly Maiduguri Mosque Bombing

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has announced that the Federal Government is deploying additional tactical security teams to Maiduguri following the deadly bomb attack at a mosque in Gamboru Market that claimed five lives and left several others injured.

In a statement released on Thursday, Shettima strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a “despicable assault on innocent citizens and the peace of the nation.” He revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an immediate intensification of security operations across Borno State in response to the incident.

The Vice-President said the Federal Government is working closely with the Borno State Government and local security agencies to protect vulnerable communities and secure critical infrastructure, not only in the North East but across other parts of the country.

According to him, the government will not tolerate any attempt to undermine national peace and security. He stressed that security agencies are operating round the clock to track down those behind the attack and bring them to justice.

Shettima expressed sympathy to the Borno State Government, residents of Maiduguri, and families who lost loved ones in the explosion. He assured Nigerians that the current security architecture would not only apprehend the perpetrators but also uncover the full circumstances surrounding the attack.

Reaffirming the Tinubu administration’s stance, the Vice-President said the government remains fully committed to safeguarding Nigeria’s unity, stability, and security, promising continued support and resources to security agencies in the fight against terrorism in all its forms.
