Dajoh Family Confirms Marriage of SGF George Akume to Queen Zaynab

The Dajoh family has officially announced the marriage of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, to his wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh. The announcement was made public on Friday by Abraham Double-D Dajoh through a Facebook post that quickly drew attention online.

In the statement, the family warmly welcomed Queen Zaynab into the Dajoh family, describing her as a “new and uncommon wife.” They expressed joy in joining Senator Akume—whom they referred to as their “daddy, uncle and brother”—in embracing this new chapter of his life. The family also thanked the SGF’s supporters for standing by him over the years and encouraged them to continue their support in this new union.

The message further welcomed Queen Zaynab to Benue State, proudly called the “Food Basket of the Nation,” to Mbakor, described as the seat of leadership of the Tiv nation, and finally to the Dajoh family home. The statement concluded with warm wishes for a happy Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year, ending with a simple but heartfelt: “Welcome home, Queen Zaynab.”

Photos circulating online show Queen Zaynab with members of the Dajoh family, signaling a public acceptance and celebration of the union. Queen Zaynab was previously known as Zaynab Otiti Obanor and was married to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, in 2016. That marriage ended in 2017, after which she returned to humanitarian work and later relocated abroad. Her marriage to Senator Akume now marks a new phase in her personal journey.
