The Department of State Services (DSS) has cancelled the “Meet-and-Greet” session that was scheduled this morning at the Awujale palace for the stool nominees. Instead, all nominees have been instructed to report to the DSS office in Ijebu-Ode by 11:00 am.
The directive was communicated in a letter dated January 21, 2026, signed by the Secretary of the Awujale Afobaje Council, Chief Ayotunde Ola Odulaja. Security agents have reportedly sealed the Awujale palace, according to Prompt News.
The letter emphasised punctuality and strict compliance, stating, “We write to formally inform you that the meet-and-greet earlier scheduled for this morning at the Aafin Awujale has been cancelled. Accordingly, the Awujale nominees are hereby directed to report to the Department of State Services (DSS) office.”
