Pastor Daniel Olukoya’s legal representatives have issued a fresh warning to UK-based activist, Ms Badejo, over allegations that she has resumed publishing claims already restrained by a standing UK High Court judgment and injunction delivered in 2021.
Court records show that Pastor Olukoya and his wife, Mrs Folashade Olukoya, filed a defamation suit in October 2020 over allegations bordering on dishonesty and sexual misconduct. Although Ms Badejo initially defended the claims as true, the UK High Court struck out her defence in April 2021, ruling that it disclosed no reasonable grounds and amounted to an abuse of court process.
Following that decision, the court granted summary judgment in favour of the Olukoyas and issued an injunction barring Ms Badejo from repeating or republishing the allegations. She was also directed to publish a summary of the judgment across her social media platforms as part of the court’s ruling.
In October 2021, the court assessed damages and ordered Ms Badejo to pay £65,000 to Pastor Olukoya and £35,000 to Mrs Olukoya as compensation for defamation.
According to a recent statement from Pastor Olukoya’s lawyers, Ms Badejo has allegedly repeated the same claims in recent weeks, an action they describe as a serious breach of the court order. The legal team confirmed that she has now been formally notified that any further repetition would lead to contempt of court proceedings.
The statement emphasised that contempt of court carries criminal consequences, including fines and possible imprisonment, noting that the issue has moved beyond reputational damage to the enforcement of judicial authority.
Pastor Olukoya, however, stated that he remains open to a peaceful end to the matter, while maintaining that the High Court judgment and injunction must be fully respected.
