Is mine Rent too high? If you’re wondering this, you should probably have your rental agreement checked. This is what new figures from the Berlin Senate’s rent control office suggest.
Between April and December last year, 339 rental contracts were checked there. In 320 cases, i.e. 94 percent, the authorities suspected that the rent was unacceptably high. This is what Sandra Obermeyer, director of the state-owned Safe Living Institute, reported this week in Urban Development Committee of the Berlin House of Representatives.
