Whether it’s the end of combustion engines or the energy transition: the election in Baden-Württemberg shows that the majority appreciates differentiated answers. That’s good news.

That much is clear after this election Baden-Württemberg: The reversal project pushed by the FDP and parts of the Union is not catching on with voters. “Back to the combustion engine!” demanded the loud voices in this camp, as well as a generally slower expansion of renewable energies.
But the majority of voters did not say they wanted to put an end to it, but rather said they wanted to keep it up. The Greens won, the FDP, on the other hand, was thrown out of the state parliament, despite or perhaps because of their widely publicized demands for fossil fuels.
