The federal government wants to raise the contribution assessment limit for statutory health insurance. Our calculator shows what this means for you.
High earners should pay more for statutory health insurance in the future. This is what a bill provides for presented by Federal Health Minister Nina Warken (CDU) on Thursday and with which she wants to relieve the burden on the coffers. The contribution assessment limit should therefore increase once by around 300 euros in 2027.
It is currently 5,812.50 euros gross per month. This is the threshold up to which health insurance contributions are due on income. Anyone who earns more does not pay any additional contributions on top of the salary above.
