“You’re Not Welcome Here” — United Kingdom Bars Influencer Over Quran-Burning Video

The United Kingdom has blocked controversial influencer Valentina Gomez from entering the country after she filmed herself burning a copy of the Quran — a move that sparked outrage and raised fears of public unrest.

The decision, confirmed by the UK Home Office under Shabana Mahmood, states that Gomez’s presence is “not conducive to the public good,” effectively stopping her from attending a planned rally in London.

Gomez, a U.S.-based activist of Colombian origin, had announced she would speak at a far-right event organised by Tommy Robinson, scheduled for May 16.

But even after the ban, she has refused to back down.

“They can try to ban me, but they cannot ban the TRUTH,” she wrote online — while a viral video shows her claiming she could still enter the UK by irregular means.

“I’m going to hop on a boat… deliver my speech,” she said, adding that any arrest could trigger intervention from the White House.

Those remarks have only deepened concerns.

Critics warn that her rhetoric — combined with past comments about Islam — could inflame tensions and provoke unrest.

At a previous UK rally, Gomez described Islam as “the sword… to destroy Christian nations,” statements that drew widespread condemnation.

Groups like the Muslim Council of Britain had already raised alarm, urging authorities to act before her planned appearance.

They warned that allowing her entry would send a dangerous signal about how hate speech is handled.

Now, they have welcomed the government’s decision, calling it a necessary step to prevent the spread of harmful and divisive messages.

The move also reflects a broader stance by UK authorities, who have increasingly blocked entry to individuals seen as potentially inflammatory.

For now, the message from the government is clear:

Free speech has limits — especially when it risks public safety.
