Seyi Tinubu has offered words of encouragement to socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu after he failed to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State.
The APC primary election, held on Saturday ahead of the 2027 general elections, saw Okechukwu—popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest and a coordinator of the City Boy Movement—contest for a House of Representatives ticket after purchasing his expression of interest and nomination forms.
He had stated that his political ambition was driven by youth empowerment, grassroots development, and the need to increase youth participation in governance across his constituency. However, he was unsuccessful in securing the party’s ticket.
Reacting on Sunday via his Instagram story, Seyi Tinubu, who serves as the Grand Patron of the City Boy Movement, urged him to remain hopeful despite the outcome.
He encouraged Okechukwu not to be discouraged by the setback, noting that political defeats can sometimes lead to future opportunities.
“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” he wrote.
The message has since drawn attention on social media, with supporters and observers weighing in on the outcome of the primaries and the broader political ambitions of entertainers and influencers entering Nigerian politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
