THE Managing Director of Jaiz Bank Alhaji Hassan Usman has said that the bank has succeeded in assisting the business Class with over One Hundred and thirty billion Naira (130bn) to expand their busineses across the Country.

Usman made the disclosure on Sunday in Kano during an engagement with Jaiz bank and Ulama during its ten year Anniversary held at Tribes Meenat Centre adjacent to Murtala Muhammed State Library in Kano.
He said Jaiz bank had started with only four branches in 2011 but spreads its tentacles to fourty five branches across the Country as we speak and promised to reach out to other states that are yet to have one .
The bank also assisted five thousand Women with Capital to boost their small Scale industries with a view to stand on their feets as well as export their products to abroad.
The Managing Director stated further that Jaiz bank has gone far in fighting Poverty, Hunger, illetracy, among other social vices.
” In dealing with poverty we have assist numerous women through respective NGOS, in eliminating hunger among the poverty stricken Nigerians ” We have assist Clusters of Farmers by giving Capital to them to improve their farming as well as gave them Fertilizer, farming implements to boost their trade, While we assist parents to support the Education of their Children “
The Managing Director said apart from the succeses recorded so far there are challenges the bank is facing since its inception when its Capital base was Twelve billion Naira, only from January 2011 to 2012.
Interestingly, he said, in 2021 the bank realised three Hundred billion Naira as its assets and there was a deposit of over two Hundred and Seven thousand Naira by its numerous Customers . Adding that in the first, Second, and third year there was no profit but it started enjoying profit from 2014 to date.
However, the MD Jaiz bank said so far the bank Capital base was tremendously improved when the Federal government embraced the bank policy of SUKUK and invested over Six Hundred billion where infrastructures such as roads contracts were being executed to the central government and states in the recent time.
” Today most states are rushing to patronise the bank because of its interest free policies and even contractors felt that their Monies are safe with the Islamic banking”
On his part, a member of the Professionals Committee Professor Ahmad Bello Dogarawa said that part of what the bank is facing is lack of enlightenment on the part of some Ulama who normally condemned its operation ignorantly.
He said the bank will soon embark on awareness Campaign to enlighten both the Ulama and members of the general public to come to terms with the bank Modus operandi.
