The lawmaker representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has officially announced his defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) back to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a post shared on his Facebook page, Jibrin revealed that his supporters unanimously agreed to leave the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya Movement to realign with the ruling APC. He noted that he was warmly received by thousands of constituents in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji, Kano.
During the gathering, the crowd reportedly resolved to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 general elections. Jibrin added that nearly 2,000 scholars from his constituency offered special prayers for the President and for peace and progress in Kano and across Nigeria.
His return to the APC follows his earlier expulsion from the NNPP over alleged anti-party activities and unpaid dues — claims he described as “shocking and unjustified.”
