Abdulrasheed Maina Hospitalised After Collapse in Abuja

Former Pension Reform Task Force chairman, Abdulrasheed Maina, has been admitted to a private hospital in Abuja after collapsing due to complications linked to an untreated knee injury. The incident occurred on Tuesday as he reportedly lost his balance while trying to enter his office and struck his head on a staircase.

His media aide, Emmanuel Ekwe, said first responders quickly provided initial care before Maina was rushed to a medical facility in the Federal Capital Territory for urgent attention. He is currently under close medical supervision, with doctors monitoring his condition closely.

According to his aides, medical personnel have indicated that an air ambulance evacuation may be considered if his condition does not improve. His family has appealed for privacy and asked the public to keep him in their thoughts as treatment continues.

Maina was recently released from the Kuje Correctional Centre after serving part of his sentence for pension fraud. In November 2021, a Federal High Court in Abuja convicted him of laundering over N2 billion meant for pensioners, a judgment that was upheld
