Actor Stanley Ontop Demands Peggy Ovire’s Arrest Over Alleged Assault on Colleague

Popular Nollywood actor Stanley Ontop has called for the immediate arrest of actress and producer Peggy Ovire after a video surfaced online allegedly showing her assaulting fellow actor Taye Arimoro.

The call, made on Thursday via Ontop’s verified Instagram account, came shortly after CCTV footage of the alleged altercation went viral. The clip reportedly captured Peggy and her team physically attacking Arimoro during a film shoot.

Earlier, Peggy Ovire had publicly denied the allegations, claiming instead that Taye Arimoro assaulted her driver during an argument. However, the newly released footage appears to contradict her statement, sparking outrage across social media.

Reacting to the video, Stanley Ontop tagged the Nigeria Police Force, urging immediate action.
He wrote: “No actor should be bullied. Dear @nigeriapoliceforce, a Nollywood actor called @tayearimoro was assaulted by a producer, Peggy, and her driver. The actor refused to shoot beyond 12 a.m. because his contract had already expired. Instead of reasoning with him, Peggy assaulted him and told her driver to join in, leaving him injured.”

Ontop further demanded that the Lagos State Police Command take swift action, insisting that the CCTV footage provided clear evidence of assault.
He added: “Peggy should be in police custody as we speak. CCTV has shown how she and her crew surrounded Taye’s vehicle in an attempt to beat him.”

As of the time of this report, Peggy Ovire has not issued any new statement addressing the video evidence or Ontop’s demand. The Nigeria Police Force has also yet to confirm if any official investigation has begun.
