The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has come forward to clear the air on rumours suggesting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refused to recognize its newly constituted leadership led by Senator David Mark.
David Mark was recently appointed as the party’s Interim National Chairman, with a fresh set of young Nigerians elected into the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). As part of protocol, ADC submitted the names of its new leadership to INEC following its 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
However, misinformation began circulating on social media, alleging that INEC rejected the submission. Reacting to the viral claims, ADC’s spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, labelled the report as “entirely false.”
Taking to his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Abdullahi stated: “The attention of ADC has been drawn to a story circulating that @inecnigeria has refused to recognise the new leadership of our party under the Distinguished Senator David Mark. This story is entirely false and should be ignored.”
He called on Nigerians to disregard the misleading information and remain focused on the party’s goal of rallying citizens to rescue the nation from its current challenges.
