ADC Warns Obi: PDP ‘Get No Cure’

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has sent a strong message to former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi — stay away from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC’s interim national publicity secretary, said PDP is only looking for a “poster boy” to clean up its battered image. He insisted Obi remains a key figure in the ADC-led opposition coalition and has not officially informed them of any plans to leave.

Rumours had been flying that Obi was in talks with PDP leaders about a possible return to contest in 2027, but Abdullahi dismissed the buzz. According to him, PDP’s “virus” has no cure, and Obi knows it. “In opposition ranking, LP is even above PDP now. They’re number four, just ahead of NNPP. So why should we be bothered?” he said.

The Obidient Movement has also maintained that Obi is still with LP and is likely to fly the party’s flag again in 2027.
