The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has officially endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji as its consensus candidate for the upcoming 2026 gubernatorial election. The affirmation took place in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, marking a significant show of unity within the party.
The motion was moved by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and seconded by Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker, Stephen Aribasoye. Both leaders praised Oyebanji’s performance, describing him as a leader whose policies and development strides have brought visible progress to the state.
Chairman of the Affirmation Congress Committee, Ahmed Ododo, commended the governor’s achievements across various sectors, noting that his administration’s efforts have deepened public trust in the APC. He emphasized that the party’s discipline and consistency have been key to maintaining good governance in Ekiti.
According to Ododo, Oyebanji’s endorsement reflects the people’s appreciation of his leadership style and the party’s resolve to sustain continuity in governance. The move also signals the APC’s readiness to retain control of the state in 2026, building on the foundation laid by Oyebanji’s administration.
