The All Progressives Congress (APC) is not holding back as it calls out two major political heavyweights — former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar — branding them as “clear and present threats” to Nigeria’s peace and unity.
This bold claim came from APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in reaction to El-Rufai’s recent warning that Nigeria would be in serious danger if President Bola Tinubu returns for a second term in 2027.
Morka didn’t mince words. He accused Atiku and El-Rufai of teaming up to hijack the African Democratic Congress (ADC) — a smaller party — calling it proof that the duo were bent on creating chaos and undermining Nigeria’s democracy.
“El-Rufai and Atiku want to do to Nigeria what Atiku already did to PDP,” Morka said, referencing Atiku’s long history of switching and reshaping political parties to suit his ambitions.
He went further, dragging Peter Obi into the fray. According to Morka, both Atiku and Obi, after losing the 2023 elections, are now acting like sore losers by turning against reforms they themselves once supported — just to attack Tinubu’s administration.
The APC insists these political moves are dangerous distractions and warned Nigerians to be watchful of politicians who are “rebranding themselves as saviors” while destabilizing existing democratic systems.v
