The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma Chapter, has commended the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for appointing a substantive Vice Chancellor for the institution.
In a press statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Dr. Cyril Onogbosele, and Secretary, Dr. William Odion, the union expressed delight over the appointment of Prof. Eunice Omonzejie as Vice Chancellor, describing it as a welcome development aligned with its long-standing agitation for substantive principal officers in the university.
ASUU noted that Prof. Omonzejie’s vast knowledge of the university system and familiarity with the challenges facing AAU placed her in a strong position to drive meaningful reforms and support the governor’s repositioning policy for the institution.
The statement further assured that the union would extend its “unflinching support” for the new vice chancellor in line with its principles and ideals, while pledging cooperation with the Edo State Government to sustain industrial harmony on campus.
“We warmly congratulate the newly appointed Vice Chancellor as well as the Governor of Edo State for this timely and strategic decision, with the assurance of healthy collaboration for the growth and stability of the university,” the statement added.
