Bandits Kill Abducted Resident in Kwara’s Lafiagi Emirate, Community in Mourning

Bandits have struck again in Kwara North, leaving the community of Esun Tauheed in deep mourning after the killing of Abdullahi Tsowa, a resident abducted during a violent raid last week. What started as a kidnapping has now ended in tragedy, fueling fresh fear in the already fragile Lafiagi Emirate.

According to community sources reported by NupekoTv-Lafiagi, Tsowa tried to hide by crawling into the ceiling when the attackers stormed his home, but he was discovered and taken away. Sadly, while two of his friends escaped with injuries, Tsowa did not survive the ordeal. His death has sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents describing it as another painful reminder of the worsening insecurity.

Neighbouring villages such as Lataworo and Gbugbu have also come under similar attacks, leaving residents feeling abandoned and unsafe in their own homes. The fear of armed bandits continues to spread, as families live under constant tension, not knowing where or when the next strike may happen.

For many in Kwara North, Tsowa’s killing has turned grief into anger and despair. Locals are calling for stronger action from authorities to protect rural communities, insisting that no one should have to live in fear of death or abduction on their own soil.
