(1) Erasmus, it’s becoming increasingly clear that we may be headed for yet another cycle of disappointment in 2027. Your heavy emphasis on a handful of disillusioned politicians exiting the APC—while downplaying the significant influx of sitting governors and legislators joining the party—suggests a rather selective analysis. It almost feels like the 2031 train has already left the station, and some are only now realizing they’ve missed it. Hopefully, we won’t have to endure another round of lamentations about “stolen mandates” and rigging after the 2027 elections.
Just to be clear, I have no personal stake in this. Like everyone else, I want what’s best for Nigeria. But, if we’re being honest, I struggle to see how this hastily assembled coalition can be trusted with governance—they simply do not exhibit the character, capacity or competence required for the task.

(2) Kindly name the six high profile members of the APC that defected to the ADC.
Thanks

(3) Too.much noise making from the so called opposition. Where are the structures of ADC when the governors that have the structures are with Tinubu?

(3) I am not comfortable with those people involved in the game. Many of them have questionable character and selfish interest. Likely, it won’t work. Yes, it cuts across every being in the society. But this ones (bokoharam, jihadist, terrorist, looter, thief etc) they are part of our problems, they go nowhere.

(5) Good morning…Can this new gang be worst than that of pre 2023 primary featuring even those Jagaban brought to power? Including the sitting President? What were the electoral values of these gang …from Oyegun to Amaechi, Aregbesola, Mark etc in last election? Can they win their wards? Don’t loose sleep over this….the journey is still a long one. In politics 24 hours longer than a month and anything can happen..

(6) This is one of the most short-sighted pieces to come from you. Do you write for the sake of writing or to make an informed comment.

(7) Very good write up. I hope someone can read and bring this to the president.

(8) As usual, fantastic write-up .
However the choice of a presidential candidate and management of the hues that might follow would determine the extent the party can go.

Have you thought about what could happen if Obi is not given the ticket? Or how pro-Obi elements would react if Atiku grabs the ticket.?

Do you think Amaechi can win, even in Rivers, not to talk about other South South States. Amaechi is a big name without electoral clout in Rivers. Wike would mess him up any time any day.

What I see are big names in ADC that may not translate to electoral dividends.

I think ADC is more of a northern vehicle to take power from Tinubu.
The party doesn’t appear to have ideological content. Its focus is the ouster of Tinubu.

(9) As usual, you captured the current political scenario aptly. Tinubu’s personalisation of power, cronyism, acute nepotism and imbecile ineptitude in policy formulation/ implementation and resultant failure has led to this new political development. Apart from Peter Obi and a few credible individuals, many coalition members including Atiku, El-Rufai Amaechi and co, who held sway in APC under highly incompetent Buhari are culpable thus, should not present themselves as political saints. If they fail to make Obi the shining face and touch bearer of the show, they may as well forget it. P-BAT will use brick baths to bathe and bake them if they fail in their calculations. The current crook in the villa is not GEJ. He fights rough and dirty.

(10) No doubt Nigerians are disenchanted with Tinubu’s corrupt and inept government and are earnestly and desperately in need of a change in governance. You have brilliantly, as ever captured, the deficiencies in Tinubu’s misrule, so it will be unnecessary to restate them here. My worry, however, is whether ADC is a viable and acceptable alternative to APC’s misadventures in governance. I am, and I believe other Nigerians are uncomfortable with the membership composition of the ADC. To me, the emergence of David Mark as interim chairman of the party is a disastrous choice. That is a man who openly told Babangida that he would shoot Abiola if he was sworn in as president in 1993 and activily participated in gunning down hundreds of Nigerians on the streets who protested against the annulment of the freest election Nigeria ever had. I was a protester in ilorin, and it is by God’s mercy that I am alive today. In a sane country, David Mark will be treated as political leper and an enemy of democracy. That, he subsequently became a Senator and president of the Senate is an anomalous and irreversible shame on this country. There are too many political lepers in ADC who have sinned against the Nigerian people. In my humble view, the beautiful ones have not yet arisen.

(11) It is a very well known fact that needs no much pondering or mincing words when it comes to issues concerning the APC failed government from inception, from administration in all spheres or parastatals down to the insecurity tussle that is a recurring decimal in the far north, that is gradually gaining a widespread momentum across the nation. These unending insurgency has crippled the already crawling economy, which the no vision leaders has taken turns to steal continuously with no emotions, because their mission is to make the nation remain stagnant.
In the aspect of the newly coalition of the different former appointees in the past administration and unsuccessful aspirant in the previous elections seen to be high profiled politicians pledging their allegiance to ouster the dominance of the APC tyranny government which I call plutocracy. These are the same people who are embedded with their own selfish thought, they would not have been saying negative things hadn’t been they were given political portfolios to handle. There allegiance is not in the interest of the people but their political gains and ambitions.
Nigerians have a very erroneous mindset when they love people they don’t like to criticize them. It’s fanatical fans that always feel bad when you question their favorite.
In conclusion Nigeria will be great if only the youth can have one voice in one accord.
