The controversy intensified after the reported arrest of Regina’s brother, Sammy, sparked widespread reactions online. Many Nigerians have urged Nwoko to resign, arguing that the scandal could bring embarrassment to the Senate.
A social media user, Realgina Onu, publicly called for the senator’s resignation to allow an independent investigation into serious allegations of sexual coercion, unlawful detention, and substance abuse.
