Career future: “Will my son become an AI assistant?”


Hardly anyone looks as closely at the threshold between school and work as the parents of those who are currently planning their future. At Oberursel Gymnasium, a normal school in the Taunus, we asked parents: What moves you when you think about your children’s career prospects?

Christiane Schwittay, 53 years old, is a marketing manager. She is currently reorienting herself professionally and often uses AI to write applications herself.

My daughter always loved painting. For years, art has been more than a hobby for her, it is her passion. She designs her own postcards and enjoys going to the art museum. She also saw a career perspective in art: perhaps in advertising, perhaps in communication design. But something has shifted in the past few months. Because how planable is a creative future in times of? artificial intelligence? When entire campaigns are created automatically, when logos and layouts are generated in seconds: What is left to design? These are the questions that concern her. And us.
