Container Truck Falls On Ojuelegba Bridge, No Casualties Recorded

A loaded 40-foot containerised Mack truck has fallen on the Ojuelegba Bridge inward National Stadium, Surulere, causing a major traffic disruption in the area.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident on Wednesday through its Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Mr Taofiq Adebayo. He said the truck lost balance while descending the bridge, with the container crashing onto the roadway and completely blocking vehicular movement.

Fortunately, no casualties were recorded in the incident.

Following the accident, LASTMA officials immediately diverted traffic coming from Fadeyi and Onipan through the service lane at Ojuelegba, allowing vehicles to exit near the Barracks and connect to Funso Williams Avenue.

Adebayo stated that LASTMA personnel are already on ground with recovery equipment, working with other emergency responders to safely evacuate the truck and restore normal traffic flow.

He added that the Ojuelegba Bridge inward National Stadium has been temporarily closed to vehicles pending the completion of the evacuation, assuring motorists that updates will be provided as the situation develops.
