Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has revealed an unusual political strategy for the 2027 elections — sending people to swell the crowd at APC rallies in order to mislead President Bola Tinubu about his popularity.
Speaking on Trust TV, the ex-minister under late President Muhammadu Buhari accused the ruling APC of failing to invest Nigeria’s resources in the country’s development.
“We are encouraging so many people to join APC,” Dalung said. “Since they have refused to invest our resources in development, we are sending people to their rallies. The crowd you will see there will deceive the president, and he’ll go and be resting in France.”
Dalung recalled a similar tactic during the #EndGovernance protests, claiming that when ministers were allegedly handing out ₦20,000 to mobilise supporters, his group encouraged their followers to collect the money — and then used it to buy food and drinks for protesters instead.
“We tell them to take the money, because it’s our money,” he said. “They refuse to invest it in our country, so we’ll make use of it in our own way.”
