It is deeply troubling that fraudsters used artificial intelligence to hijack the public image of Mrs. Ibukun Awosika. Real videos of her were manipulated to make it seem like she was promoting a fake share-buying scheme and an exclusive investment club.
In an official video message, she clearly denied any involvement. She stressed that she has not created any investment club and did not authorize anyone to use her image for financial promotions.
The scammers circulated fake ads and posts across social media to convince unsuspecting people to send money, believing they were acting on her advice. She reminded the public that if an offer looks suspicious, it likely is—especially when someone’s face is used without consent.
She urged people to report these fake accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms and to widely share her clarification video to prevent further victims.
