In a surprising political twist that has set tongues wagging across Ekiti State, former governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Ayo Fayose, caused a stir on Monday when he showed up at an All Progressives Congress (APC)rally — boldly rocking his signature PDP-branded cap.
The rally, held in Ado-Ekiti, was organized to show massive support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. APC loyalists filled the venue, chanting slogans and waving party flags — until Fayose made a dramatic entrance that momentarily froze the atmosphere.
Despite the sea of APC colours, Fayose walked confidently to the podium where he was welcomed and allowed to address the crowd briefly. The sight of him wearing his PDP regalia at a ruling party’s rally has sparked both amusement and speculation.
This isn’t the first time Fayose has made headlines with his unpredictable moves. Though he has long declared his loyalty to the PDP, he has also been known to fraternize with key APC figures, raising questions about where his true allegiance lies.
But the former governor has stood his ground. In several interviews and public statements, Fayose has said clearly:
“I’m not joining the APC. I am a committed PDP man.”
