Economy: IG Metall expects around 30,000 job losses in Bavaria

This year, IG Metall is placing particular emphasis on electing new works councils from March. Ott sees no breakthrough for right-wing groups like the Zentrum association in Bavaria. “From the current perspective, we cannot determine that we are being overrun by right-wing lists in the companies,” he said. “I’m currently assuming that these are special works council elections – but not because any groups are getting involved, but because the economic situation is what it is.”
