Former Edo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. (Dr.) Samson Osagie, has praised President Bola Tinubu and the Senate for the appointment and reconfirmation of Hon. Henry Idahagbon as Federal Commissioner representing Edo State at the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).
Osagie described the development as a clear vote of confidence in Idahagbon’s competence, experience, and ability to contribute to the effective functioning of the FCSC. He noted that the executive and National Assembly’s decision reflects a careful assessment of the commissioner’s character and performance.
Idahagbon’s confirmation process initially faced delays due to allegations of corruption raised by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, which generated political reactions within and outside Edo State. However, the objection faced backlash, especially among Edo South political leaders and public affairs observers, emphasizing due process and fairness.
Dr. Osagie urged Idahagbon to treat the reconfirmation as a call to higher responsibility, emphasizing effective representation, selfless service, and adherence to national values. He highlighted the importance of demonstrating patriotism, loyalty, fairness, and justice to all, irrespective of tribe, religion, or creed.
