Eid: Fashola Urges Reconciliation for Better, Greater Nigeria

Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN)  a former minister of works and housing, on Sunday, said it is time for Nigerians to reconcile, stretch their hands of fellowship to one another, and focus on building a great country.

Fashola stated this after observing the Eid-el-fitr prayer at the  Dodan Barracks praying ground, Obalende, Lagos.

The former governor of Lagos State charged Nigerians to come together to build a better and greater nation.

According to him, Nigerians should focus on building the country, rather than breaking it.

“This is a time for us to reconcile, not a time to reproach. This is a time for us to stretch our hands in fellowship to one another.

“Let us focus on building the great country that Almighty Allah has provided for us,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion of Eid el-fitr, Fashola stressed that Ramadan remained a season of peace, unity and gratitude.

He urged Muslim faithful to extend the spirit of Ramadan beyond the fasting period, emphasising the importance of peace, gratitude, charity and prayer to Allah.

Fashola, who expressed his wishes for Nigerians said:  “I wish everybody Eid Mubarak and may the blessings and mercies of the month of Ramadan continue to remain with us beyond the month.”

Trojaninsights reports that the Eid-el-fitr celebration marks the end of Ramadan, a spiritual rebirth of Muslims as commanded by Allah in fulfillment of the fourth pillar of Islam.
