“Enough is Enough!” — Plateau Women Threaten Naked Protest Over Unending Killings

A powerful cry is rising from the heart of Plateau State—and it’s coming from the women who’ve lost too much, too often. The Berom Women Development Association (BWEDA) has drawn a line in the sand, threatening a naked protest over the repeated attacks and killings ravaging their communities, allegedly carried out by suspected Fulani militias.

In a statement released on Saturday, BWEDA president Abigail Banga didn’t mince words. “This is no longer a farmer-herder clash,” she said. “This is genocide—a deliberate campaign of extermination.” Their anguish, laced with rage and heartbreak, paints a chilling picture of the insecurity they live with every day.

Despite the presence of military checkpoints and armoured vehicles, entire villages are still being wiped out. Children are being butchered, homes burned to the ground. And what does the government offer in response? Condolence visits and palliatives, instead of real protection or justice.

BWEDA is fed up—and they’re not alone. Their statement, dripping with pain, calls out the failure of leadership at every level. “We’re traumatised, we’re grieving, and we’re angry. We’ve had enough of empty words.”

They are demanding immediate security overhaul and accountability, even raising concerns of military complicity. But if nothing changes, they’re ready to put their bodies on the line—literally. “We will go n*ked to protest. This isn’t just Plateau’s problem. It’s Nigeria’s shame.”

Their message is raw, urgent, and unignorable: Act now—or watch us lay bare our grief in the streets.
