Ex-Adamawa Senator, Elisha Abbo Defends Allegations of Sharing Ex-girlfriend’s s€x Tapes On Live Radio show

FORMER federal lawmaker Elisha Abbo, who represented the Adamawa North Senatorial District in the 9th Senate, has publicly defended himself against allegations of sharing explicit videos of his former girlfriend.

The controversy came to light during an appearance on the Abuja-based Human Rights Radio’s popular show, ‘Brekete Family,’ which was streamed live on Facebook.

During the broadcast, Abbo responded to accusations made by Wange David, who claimed that he threatened to use her intimate videos to manipulate her.

Abbo firmly refuted these allegations, asserting that they were unfounded and aimed at damaging his reputation.

Abbo provided videos and documents to the show’s anchor, Ahmed Isah, popularly known as ‘Ordinary President’, as evidence of his innocence. “Wange has told different versions of the story, which clearly means she is lying,” Abbo stated during the live broadcast.

Wange David had earlier appeared on Brekete Family show on Monday, accusing the former lawmaker of blackmail and sexual exploitation. She claimed that Abbo had attempted to use their intimate videos as a bargaining chip against her.

Recall that Abbo had issued a 72-hour ultimatum demanding a public retraction and apology from Wange.

The ultimatum followed the circulation of videos and an interview that accused Senator Abbo of engaging in revenge pornography, blackmail, and distributing intimate videos.

Abbo’s legal representative, Odiyowvi Osusu, emphasised that the alleged defamatory statements had caused severe damage to his client’s personal and professional reputation, misleading the public.

The videos in question were reportedly shared on the platform “Naija Police: U” on September 4, 2024, while the interview was aired on TrustTV News via YouTube the next day. In the formal letter sent to Wange, Abbo’s legal team demanded that the retraction be posted on the same platforms where the original content was circulated.

The letter reads in part: “We have been instructed by our client to make a demand, and we hereby formally request that within 72 hours of receiving this letter, you publish or air an unequivocal public retraction and apology on national TV and in three national newspapers. The terms of this retraction must be approved by our firm, and we expect you to revert to us within 24 hours of receipt of this letter.”

Failure to meet the deadline, according to the letter, will result in legal action, including claims for libel, an injunction to prevent further publication, and a court-ordered public apology. Abbo stressed that his legal team was fully prepared to initiate proceedings if the demands were not met within the given timeframe.

However, addressing the allegations on the live show, Abbo questioned the authenticity of the evidence, stating, “How can you identify a person without seeing his face, his body, only parts of his legs, and you said it is Senator Abbo?”

Meanwhile, in her earlier interview with TrustTV, Wange claimed that she had dated Senator Abbo for six years before getting married and that they had made the sex tapes together. She alleged that Abbo was responsible for leaking the video, asserting that, “He is the only one that has access to that video.”
