Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) operatives have arrested one Mr. Musa Ali for allegedly posing as an OPSH officer in a bid to swindle unsuspecting members of the public.
According to a statement released on Saturday, August 9, 2025, by OPSH’s Major Media Information Officer, Major Samson Nantip, Ali reportedly collected ₦400,000 from the family of a notorious gunrunner currently under investigation.
The suspect allegedly promised to stop the ongoing investigation and secure the suspect’s release from custody — a claim that turned out to be completely false. His scheme was uncovered by OPSH operatives, leading to his swift arrest.
“OPSH does not, under any circumstances, collect money or any form of gratification to release suspects or halt investigations,” the statement emphasized. “Every suspect is thoroughly investigated in line with the law to ensure justice and maintain peace.”
The military task force stressed that Ali’s arrest reflects its zero-tolerance stance on corruption and its commitment to professionalism and transparency. OPSH also assured the public that the suspect would face prosecution once investigations are concluded.
Members of the public have been urged to remain alert and report anyone claiming to have influence over OPSH’s investigative activities. Reports can be made through OPSH’s toll-free line 08000020203 or directly at the OPSH Headquarters, Hill Station Roundabout, Jos.
OPSH reiterated its dedication to protecting lives and property, fostering peace, and upholding integrity, promising to continue working closely with other security agencies and law-abiding citizens to stamp out crime in its operational area.
